Getting Started
For new and returning customers, you are no longer able to return to previously created quotes. The new process is designed to be completed in one session.

Instructions for selecting services:

Start by characterizing the samples and their origins with the type and class dropdown menus. The categorization does not need to be exact, but is meant to help guide your selection.
- Single organism, includes isolates/pure cultures, tissue or blood samples, polymorphic populations
- Multi-organism: Host + pathogen, Environmental samples, Mixed community
- Construct: for prepared sequencing libraries that have sequencing adapters, prepared PCR amplicons for long read sequencing

Choose a service category and then a specific package size.
- For PacBio services, only the library preparations and their prices are shown. Flowcell entries will be added automatically to your list when adding a prep.

Select add-on services for all samples in this group. They will be added to your list of services at the bottom of the page.
- Some add-ons have additional add-ons themselves. Be sure to select all of the Extras using the checkboxes before adding the primary add-on to your quote with the “+Add” button.

Adjust the quantities using the boxes at the bottom of the page. Quantities for add-on services must be the same as the number of samples for a main service.
- If not all samples should receive the same add-on services, please split them into a separate service group.
- PacBio customers, please adjust the number of preps to the number of samples you have and flowcells to meet your sequencing needs. (You can multiplex more than 1 sample per flowcell.) If you are unsure of how many flowcells you need, please contact us with your organism, service, number of samples, and target coverage/depth.

To add another service group of samples, click the “+Add Another Service” button and repeat the process.
- To remove a service group, click the red ‘x’ in the top right corner of the service box.
- Once you are happy with the list of services, click Next to generate your quote. Bulk discounts will be calculated at that time.

Please ensure that you have all information that is required to check out, including your payment information. The rest of the process must be completed in one session. You will not be able to exit and return during this process.

Reference Files for Analysis Add-ons
Please provide your reference files for your analyses and associate each to the appropriate samples by name. We accept:

Uploaded files in the following formats:
- annotated (.gbk, .gb, .gff, .gbff)
- unannotated (.fasta, .fa, .fna) - Do not contain gene information and cannot be used for RNA analyses.
- compressed versions of the above formats

Publicly available references
- Please list both the database and full accession/version number for the exact assembly and annotation to be used.
- Ex. “NCBI GenBank GCA_000005845.2” is acceptable and is the GenBank version of genome assembly ASM584v2. Similarly, “NCBI GenBank GCF_000005845.2” is also acceptable, but is the RefSeq version of the same assembly. “NCBI GenBank ASM584v2” is not acceptable, because it refers to multiple versions.
- Raw SRA data and bioprojects are not assemblies and cannot be used.

Assemblies generated within this order
- Please list the name of the sample with an assembly or Nanopore Combo as the Reference Sample, in the Customer Comments box below.
You can add up to 6 files, selecting several at once or adding them one at a time. Maximum upload size: 4 MB per file and 4 MB combined (to stay within system limits). Use compressed formats when possible.
Overall Comments

To have your data shared with additional collaborators, please include their email addresses or Globus IDs in a request below.
For all orders with negative controls: If you wish to receive data for the negative controls, please:
- specify which samples are the controls
- confirm your request to receive the data, even if the amount is less than the requested package size.
The full package price will be charged for these samples, no matter the output. Samples named as negative controls or blanks will also have this policy applied.
For services with reference files: If you provided more than 1 file, please indicate which samples should use which reference files.
Payment Method
Warning! In order to save your sample information, you must complete this last step. (This is a change from our previous system.)
For Purchase Orders:
- If you have a PO ready, please enter the information below, including the email address(es) where the invoice should be sent.

If you are waiting for a PO:
- Please enter “Purchase Order in progress” as the PO# to complete the process. Afterwards, you must send your PO to finance@seqcenter.com when it is ready. SeqCenter will not begin work until a PO is received.
For credit card payments using the CC Link option:
- Please note that credit card payments are subject to a 3.3% processing fee.

An invoice with payment link will be sent to the email address entered, at a later time.
- Most orders will be sent a link after sequencing work is completed, but large orders may be asked to prepay.
- You do not need to wait for the link to ship your samples.

Sample Details
When submitting your samples please ensure they meet the following requirements:
- All purified nucleic acid samples should be resuspended in nuclease-free water or dilute Tris or TE buffer. (Most extraction kit buffers are OK.)
- Samples should be sent in microcentrifuge tubes labeled with permanent marker or sealed 96-well PCR plates for larger submissions. (Please send PCR plates on dry ice to reduce the possibility of leaking or cross contamination.)
- We ask customers to not use sticker labels, as they are prone to fall off.
- When shipping with dry ice, include at least 5–10 lbs of dry ice per day of expected transit. Do NOT ship Thursday or Friday.
- Concentration values below correspond to Qubit or other dye-based methods. If using a Nanodrop, at least double is required.
Extractions
Generally, 109 cells are required either as aspirated cell pellets, well-grown lawns on agar, or homogenized tissue. For exact requirements, see the extraction section of the specific service page.
